Abbreviations:

R = round

mr = magic ring

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (2 sc in the next stitch)

W = increase (3 sc in the next stitch)

dec = decrease (join the next 2 stitches into 1)

sl st = slip stitch

st = stitch

ch = chain

FO = Fasten off/finish off

FLO = Front loops only

BLO = Back loops only

[ ] = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row

( ) x 6 = repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

To crochet an amigurumi Pig you need:

– Yarn (2.5mm): pink, light yellow, dark pink, white

– 2.5 mm crochet hook

– Size eyes: 6mm

– Fiberfill for stuffing

– Sewing needle and scissors

Start with pink yarn

R 1: 6 sc in mr, slst [6]
R 2: 1 ch, inc x 6, slst [12]
R 3: 1 ch, (1 sc, inc) x 6, slst [18]
R 4: 1 ch, (2 sc, inc) x 6, slst [24]
R 5: 1 ch, (3 sc, inc) x 6, slst [30]
R 6: 1 ch, (4 sc, inc) x 6, slst [36]
R 7-10: 1 ch, 36 sc, slst (4 rounds)  [36]
Insert the eyes between rounds 7-8, 5sts apart
R 11: 1 ch, (4 sc, dec) x 6, slst [30]
R 12: 1 ch, (3 sc, dec) x 6, slst [24]
R 13: 1 ch, (2 sc, dec) x 6, slst [18]
Stuff with fiberfill  
R 14: 1 ch, (1 sc, dec) x 6, slst [12]
R 15: 1 ch, dec x 6, slst [6]

Stuff with fiberfill. Cut the yarn, and hide the tail.

Legs (make 2)

Leg 1

Start with pink yarn

R 1: 8 sc in mr, slst [8]
R 2: 1 ch, inc x , slst [16]
R 3: 1 ch, 12 sc, slst (2 rounds) [16]

Stuff with fiberfill. Cut yarn and hide the tail.

Leg 2

Make the other leg, don’t cut the yarn. Stuff both legs firmly.

Start with pink yarn

R 1: 8 sc in mr, slst [8]
R 2: 1 ch, inc x , slst [16]
R 3: 1 ch, 12 sc, slst (2 rounds) [16]
Change to light yellow yarn

Join in leg 1 with sl st. And continue to crochet the body using the stitches of both legs.

R 4:1 ch, (8 sc, inc) x 2, slst [36]
R 5-8: 1 ch, 36 sc, slst (5 rounds) [36]
Change to light yellow yarn  
R 9: 1 ch, 36 sc, slst (BLO) [36]
R 10: 1 ch, (4 sc, dec) x 6, slst [30]
R 11: 1 ch, 30 sc, slst [30]
R 12: 1 ch, (3 sc, dec) x 3, slst [24]

Stuff with fiberfill. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
